As soon as you walk through the door at Bakealicious, beautiful aromas of fresh baked goods immerse you.
A little cosy shop filled with all different kinds of candles, cake toppers, cake stands and delicious handmade cakes available by the slice on Friday’s and Saturday’s 10am-5pm. You will also find empanadas, gluten-free brownies, cupcakes, gluten-free and dairy-free cupcakes, vegan cupcakes, shortbread and biscuits.
Gabriela had a dream of owning a cake shop since she was 6 years old. Herself and the team devote their time to creating a personalised cake for every customer, Bakealicious by Gabriela creates cakes to remember. For Gabriela, celebrating and sharing a piece of cake with loved ones is when life-long memories are made.
When you ask Gabriela where her passion for baking stems from, her smile lights up as she recalls the special moments spent baking with her mother and “Quichito” grandmother in the kitchen of their family farm in the south of Chile.
These moments not only taught her how to harness the distinct flavours and techniques of her Chilean heritage, but importantly instilled in Gabriela that cooking is about preparing a meal with your heart and soul and sharing it with your loved ones. Inspired by her own childhood and years of baking experience, Gabriela's cakes bring to life a simpler time before there were factory lines and processed food.

Every cake is handmade with love using all natural ingredients - no packet mixes, sweeteners or added preservatives are used.
Only the freshest, seasonal ingredients go into each handmade cake with traditional artisanal methods used to ensure there is no unnecessary food wastage.
Gabriela layers her cakes with mousse, fresh cream and/or Swiss-meringue buttercream which soaks into thin layers of light sponge to create the moist and fluffy texture characteristic of Chilean baking.
The results are unique and delicious cakes with textures and delicate flavours to savour with no sickly sweet nasty ingredients. Being one of her best sellers the Vintage Vanilla Cake (known as the traditional Victoria Sponge) also available gluten-free.
Her signature best-selling Dulche de Leche cheesecake is what caramel aspires to be. A South American favourite, this caramel-like flavour blends perfectly with baked cream cheese to create a creamy and smooth baked cheesecake that’s not too sweet, and that pairs perfectly with a ginger biscuit crumb.
